I. Constant-Current Drive: The Cornerstone of Brightness Consistency
Backlit LED lamps must use constant-current drive! This is the key to resolving the issue of inconsistent brightness among different modules at the same voltage. LEDs exhibit inherent variations in forward voltage (Vf)—typically 2.7–3.2 V per diode. Under constant-voltage operation, a diode with a slightly lower Vf will conduct a higher current, resulting in greater brightness, while a diode with a higher Vf will appear dimmer. Single-lamp parallel drive: The design is relatively simple and highly redundant (a single lamp failure does not affect the overall system). However, it requires a substantial total drive current—for example, eight lamps in parallel demand 120–160 mA at 20 mA per lamp.

Series voltage: Total voltage of a single LED string = Forward voltage (Vf) of one LED × Number of LEDs in series. For example, with 8 LEDs connected in series, the drive voltage must be ≥ 3.2 V × 8 = 25.6 V (allowing for a margin). 
Parallel current: Total drive current = Current per string × Number of parallel strings. For example, with 2 strings in parallel and a current of 20 mA per string, the total current = 20 mA × 2 = 40 mA.
