1602-character LCD display

The 1602 character LCD displays supplied by CNK are widely used in various electronic projects and devices. Thanks to their low cost and ease of interfacing with microcontrollers and other electronic circuits, they can straightforwardly implement text and basic graphic displays. Typically equipped with a backlight for clear visibility in low-light conditions, these 1602 LCD modules incorporate the HD44780 or a compatible controller chip, simplifying connections to external microcontrollers and devices while handling low-level display control internally. When using a 1602 LCD, it is usually connected to a microcontroller via parallel data lines—commonly operating in 4-bit or 8-bit mode—and control signals, including the data/command select line, read/write control, and enable pin. By sending commands and data to the module, functions such as text display, scrolling messages, and custom character generation can be realized. Module programming generally requires transmitting commands and data according to a specific timing sequence to configure initialization settings, cursor blinking or scrolling, and the content to be displayed. Overall, the 1602-character LCD is a versatile and widely adopted component in electronic projects, enabling simple and efficient visual feedback and information output across a broad range of devices.
